Canada’s THA poaches BBC Worldwide exec McCauley

McCauleyThomas Howe Associates (THA) has poached Gwen Jones McCauley from BBC Worldwide.

She will take a newly created senior VP, content sales and business development position at the specialist Canadian distributor.

In the new role McCauley will oversee THA’s programme sales in Canada as well as scouting for international series it can shop to Canadian broadcasters.

THA reps content from several well-known producers in Canada including Aardman, Eagle Vision and Ireland’s RTE.

At worldwide McCauley was VP, sales & coproductions and has also has sales and acquisitions roles at Canadian firms Skywriter and Cookie Jar (now part of DHX Media).

At THA she will work out of the company’s Toronto headquarters, working with company founder Thomas Howe, the executive producer of the Canadian versions of All3Media formats Undercover Boss and Be the Boss for the W Network.

“We are delighted to bring on board someone of Gwen’s caliber. Her extensive experience and deep industry contacts both here and abroad will ensure the continued growth and success of the company,” Howe said.
