Jonathan Jackson resurfaces at Franklin Rae as TV PR agency sold

Jonathan_JacksonFranklin Rae has been bought by Tessa Laws, founder of legal firm newlawslegal, and Jonathan Jackson has been appointed to the board of the TV PR agency.

Jackson was running UK-based distributor DRG until last month when it was sold to MTG in a £15 million deal.

Franklin Rae founder Jill Franklin will also be on the board as will Steve Leach formerly of branded content agency Big Mouth Media.

Franklin sold the PR business, which counts numerous UK producers and distributors as clients, to James Grant Group in 2011. No financial details were disclosed for that or the latest sale.

JGG admitted it could not sufficiently develop the Franklin Rae business and said it was delighted it had found a new home.

Mike Wallwork, COO of JGG said: “The decision to exit PR was driven by our strategic view of the Group moving forward and also our acknowledgement that JGG was unlikely to be able to add sufficient value to Franklin Rae as a company in the market.”

Sadie Groom, managing director of technology and broadcast focused PR firms Bubble & Squeak and Silver Lining Communications has been brought in to run Franklin Rae under its new structure in tandem with her current roles. She will have equity in the new look Franklin Rae she told TBI.
