Hasbro to integrate film and TV units

US toy manufacturer Hasbro is to integrate all of its content businesses under one division to be run by Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis.

The move will see the company’s television, film, commercial productions and short-form content brought together. Davis, who has been responsible for the company’s global TV development since 2009, will now run Hasbro’s Film Group and its commercials and short form content studio.

Davis will now be in charge of its feature slate, including Transformers 4, Stretch Armstrong and Candy Land in addition to its television series including Transformers Prime, Littlest Pet Shop and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He will report to John Frascotti, chief marketing officer at Hasbro.

“We are bringing together several of our entertainment groups so that we can fully drive our content development capabilities across our global franchises,” Frascotti said. “Stephen is the perfect choice to lead this important new initiative. In just three years, he has made significant contributions to strengthening the company’s global brands by propelling Hasbro Studios into one of the world’s most successful producers of animation and live-action programming.”
