Int’l broadcasters come on board BBCWW’s Ripper Street

Canadian broadcaster Space and Norwegian public broadcaster NRK have become the latest international channels to come on board BBC Worldwide’s crime drama Ripper Street.

The series, which has been produced for the BBC, has already been pre-sold to Australian commercial broadcaster Network Ten and BBC America.

Ripper Street is written by Waking The Dead‘s Richard Warlow and produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and Lookout Point.

It is set in Whitechapel in the East End of London in 1889 following the Jack the Ripper murders and centres around the notorious police group H Division.

BBC Worldwide will be launching the eight-part series at MIPCOM and is taking a number of the cast including Matthew Macfadyen (Pride and Prejudice, Spooks), Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones) and Adam Rothenberg (Alcatraz) to Cannes.
