Sky Vision snags Kwesé deal before MIPTV

Factual-headerUK-based distributor Sky Vision has signed a programming deal with fledgling pay TV broadcaster Kwesé TV.

Joseph-Hundahhe agreement hands the Econet Media subsidiary 20 factual shows.

These include Start Up You, a 10x60mins series following an ambitious group of young entrepreneurs, who worked under the mentorship of billionaire venture capitalist for the chance to win investment to launch their own business.

There are also two versions of Make Me a Millionaire: an 8x60mins series from the UK and a 6x60mins programme from the US. These follow amazing inventions that were never made, giving them an opportunity for a second chance.

“We pride ourselves in sourcing the very best and premium content for our Kwesé-owned channels,” said president and group CEO of Econet, Joseph Hundah.

“Investing in and supporting Africa’s entrepreneurs is something we are extremely passionate about. These shows are an important part of our Kwese Inc channel which seeks to empower and inspire audiences in an engaging and thought-provoking way.”

Kwesé went live in some territories in Africa in January.
