MIPCOM slates – Red Arrow & Zed

Red Arrow International

Buying BlindA Red Arrow International format in which families hand over responsibility of buying their home is headed for MIPCOM.

Buying Blind comes from Red Arrow Group-owned Kinetic Content, but was first produced by Snowman Productions for TV3 in Denmark.

Joining it on the Red Arrow slate is The Spouse House, also from US-based Kinetic. The TLC show follows 14 people looking for love who move into a home together and hope to leave married.

Pregnant with a Stranger, a Snowman show for Kanal 4, sees a team of experts help single women planning to have children to find a good father.

Other new formats include Kanal 5’s State of Hate and Kabel Eins series Shop! Cook! Win!; and the BBC’s factual series A Matter of Life of Debt, and Pernel Media-produced France 4 series The Story of Toys. Strike Carrier, meanwhile, is a three-hour doc series from Chris Terill for the BBC and Smithsonian Channel in the US.

“Our diverse new slate for MIPCOM includes a range of genuinely bold and ambitious shows, that do not shy away from tackling difficult questions and challenging the status quo,” said managing director of Red Arrow International Henrik Pabst.

Zed

Leonardo The Mystery of a Lost PortraitFrench producer and distributor Zed is heading into MIPCOM with an eye on science and history, and three shows on the themes.

Leonardo: The Mystery of a Lost Portrait (pictured) is a coproduction between ZED and Sydonia Production for Arte in France. The docudrama examines the recent history of a painting that could be the only self-portrait the artist ever drew.

Mona Lisa Production’s The Secret History of our Evolution will also appear in Cannes. The doc series, produced for France 5, retraces the story of human organs through archeological exploration.

CuriosityStream’s Top Science Stories will also appear as a look back on the major discoveries of our time, including previously-unknown dinosaurs, exoplanets and solar eclipses.
