Rive Gauche opening Kid Diners in Cannes

kid dinersRive Gauche Television is launching fact-ent series Kid Diners at MIPCOM, along with Wives with Knives and Bizarre Battles.

The independent US distributor’s Kid Diners follows kids who love to eat as they explore crazy diners and dining experiences. In each of the half-hour episodes a kid host explores eateries in a different city.

The 13x30mins series is made by Farpoint Films and originally went out on Canadian net TVO.

True Crime series Wives with Knives recreates episodes in which a wife stabs her partner.

The Indigo Films-produced series has fared well on Discovery ID and RGTV has rights to season five.

On the formats front, RGTV has sports competition format Bizarre Battles for the market. The paper format has ten contestants compete in wacky games that are actually played around the world, including Wife Carrying and Pillow Fighting.

RGTV has also struck several pre-market sales for Droned, the ob-doc series about a family running a drone business, which it launched at MIPTV. Viasat has bought it for its feeds across Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Africa. In New Zealand, pubcaster TVNZ has picked it up.

Other recent sales include My Strange Addiction to Mediaset in Spain and Foxtel in Australia, Wives with Knives to TV4 in Sweden and Fix it & Finish it to TV2 in Hungary. Sky in the UK has taken a new season of Dog Whisperer.
