Cineflix picks up series ahead of MIPCOM

Day-Hitler-Died-main-image.jpgCineflix Rights has secured a raft of third-party content that it will launch at MIPCOM.

The slate for the market includes The Day Hitler Died, a special from UK prodco Finestripe.

The film, which has been made to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the death of the Nazi dictator, has new eyewitness accounts and also uses archive footage and reconstruction elements.

It follows on from Finestripe’s The Day Kennedy Died, which Cineflix shopped into over 25 territories.

Cineflix will also launch 10x30mins series Last Hope with Troy Dunn at the market. The DunnDeal-produced show follows the titular missing persons expert as he tracks and reunites lost loved ones with their families.

The show is for US cable net UP Entertainment. Cineflix already sells the cabler’s reality series Bringing Up Bates.

From Australian prodco Wildbear, Cineflix has Moody Beasts, a 3x60mins natural history-science hybrid that looks at bizarre animal behavior. From the same producer there is Faces Only a Mother Could Love, about the evolutionary reasons for unusual-looking animals.

The acquisitions line-up is rounded off with Indigo Films 8x60mins series Secrets of America’s Favourite Places, which delves into the secrets of iconic US locations including Mount Rushmore and Alcatraz.

Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media said: “I’m delighted to be adding Wildbear to our roster of more than 80 hugely creative producer partners and to be continuing our great relationship with UP Entertainment, Finestripe, and Indigo through these new acquisition deals.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing these titles to our broadcaster clients at MIPCOM and to acquiring more content at the market.”
