Limitless, Rush Hour set for CBS

TV remakes of feature films Limitless and Rush Hour are to air on CBS in the new season after the Eye Network’s latest round of greenlights.

The shows will be joined on the 2015-16 schedule by a Criminal Minds spin-off, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders; medical drama Code Black; superhero series Supergirl; and comedies Life in Pieces and Angel From Hell.

However, Vince Gilligan’s 2014-15 season series Battle Creek, which has struggled to impact viewers, has been cancelled.

Limitless, based on the Bradley Cooper movie, follows a man whose drug-enhanced abilities allow him to help the FBI with weekly cases. CBS Television Studios produces with K/O Paper Products and film producer Relativity Media.

Rush Hour, meanwhile, follows a by-the-book Hong Kong police officer paired with a cocky African-American LAPD cop. Warner Bros. Television is attached, as it is on Supergirl, a Greg Berlanti drama about Superman’s cousin. CBS TV Studios is also attached.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders follows an FBI unit that helps Americans in trouble overseas, and is from ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, while Code Black is another from ABC Studios. It is based on a 2014 documentary of the same name, and is set in a notorious emergency room.

Life in Pieces is a single cam family sitcom from Kapital Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV told from the perspectives of different family members, while Angel From Hell is a CBS TV Studios series about a woman that claims to be the guardian of another.
