Global Agency acquires factual distributor World Wide Entertainment

Turkish drama and reality distributor Global Agency is moving into the factual business after acquiring Australian distributor World Wide Entertainment.

Global Agency, known for distributing formats, including Shopping Monsters and Turkish drama series including Magnificent Century, will run the company through a new joint venture it has set up with Turkish producer Tims Productions.

World Wide Entertainment, which was run by Bill Farrow, distributes documentary series including A Royal Life, Marilyn Monroe: Fascination and California Life.  Following the deal, Farrow will launch a new distributor, Switch International.

Global Agency CEO Izzet Pinto said: “World Wide Entertainment is a long running success story and I’m delighted to welcome it into the Global Agency family. Buyers from every country have already come to us for the world’s hottest formats and most compelling drama series, and now we can offer them some of the best finished content as well.”
