BBC Worldwide, All3Media set up German production JV

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the British public broadcaster, has set up a joint venture production company in Germany with UK indie All3Media.

The two companies have set up Tower Productions, which will produce BBC Worldwide formats for the German market as well as develop its own series.

This comes months after All3Media shut its German production company Time2Talk and absorbed it into MME Moviement.

Tower Productions will be run by Stefan Oelze, currently management board member of MME Moviement, who will become managing director, and Markus Schafer, managing director, All3Media Germany. The pair will work closely with Colin Jarvis, director of international formats, BBC Worldwide.

The launch follows comments from Wayne Garvie, managing director of content and production, BBC Worldwide, that it would continue to expand.
