Impossible Pictures Factual and Osprey Publishing have announced plans for a collaboration, based on the development of TV series adapted from Osprey’s catalogue of military history and heritage books.

Under the new partnership Impossible has already started production on The Raid, a six-part adaptation of Osprey’s series Raid.

The two companies have previously worked together on World War II: The Last War Heroes for Channel 4 and History Canada, which told the personal stories of soldiers and re-enacted their experiences with real bombs and ammunition.

Jonathan Drake, IPF managing director said: “I am very excited to be collaborating with Osprey Publishing.  Our companies share a passion for history and storytelling and an interest in using top class visuals to take the reader and television audience to the heart of the action.”

Richard Sullivan, Osprey Publishing managing director, added: “Having worked with the team at Impossible, we are confident they are the right people to translate the vast amount of information contained in our books into accessible, entertaining television, and we are looking forward to seeing the results of our joint endeavours.”
