DRG brings in 7A Media as first agent in Lat Am

New Cesar DiazDRG has appointed 7A Media as its first ever agent for Latin America and Hispanic US.

Miami-based 7A Media was founded by Latin American sales veteran Cesar Diaz (pictured), who will now work closely with DRG’s senior VP for North and South America, Scott Kirkpatrick, to create opportunities and maximise returns in the region from the DRG catalogue.

“With recent sales such as Kate Middleton’s Wardrobe Secrets to DirecTV, My Mother Diana to Telefe and Honey I Bought the House to Discovery Latin America, DRG’s business has been growing rapidly in the region, and the time had definitely come to add some additional resource,” said Kirkpatrick.

“With Cesar’s help we will now be able to work more quickly and spend more time understanding the changing needs of our clients. I am delighted that someone as experienced, well-known and respected as Cesar will be representing our content with me and I look forward to working closely with him.”

Diaz said: “DRG is an exciting, fast moving business and as it represents such a wide range of producers it has a truly diverse catalogue. Not only does this make my work as an agent interesting, but it also means I have a variety of content, with different creative styles and on and off screen talent, to pitch to broadcasters and platforms in Latin America and Hispanic US.

“I am delighted to have been appointed to assist with developing the DRG brand further in the region and to help launch the exciting new MIPCOM slate to the market.”

This January, UK-based Power Entertainment Media also brought in Diaz to oversee sales across Latin America, reuniting him with the business.
