Boomerang, part of the Twofour Group, has been commissioned to produce a brand new 3x60mins series for UK broadcaster Channel 5, Sinkholes: Deadly Drops.

Sinkholes: Deadly Drops will re-live the incredible stories of the people and places that survived a sinkhole – exploring the ripple effect in the immediate aftermath to the enormous feats of engineering and reconstruction required to help communities rebuild their lives.

The series was commissioned by Sean Doyle and will be executive produced by Sam Grace. An air date is yet to be confirmed. It will be distributed worldwide by ITV-owned Twofour Rights.

Grace, director of programmes at Boomerang, said: “We’re really excited to be producing this dramatic new series for Channel 5 which gives our Cardiff production team the chance to tell some incredible stories from around the world.”

Doyle, commissioning editor at Channel 5, added: “Having claimed cars, homes, and even lives, sinkholes are terrifying, unpredictable and happening right now. This new series will leave viewers treading carefully.”
