ABC orders The Jetsons live-action reboot

ABC has ordered a live-action reboot of 1960s Hanna-Barbera animated series The Jetsons, executive produced by Back to the Future’s Robert Zemeckis.

The multi-camera sitcom is set 100 years into the future and looks at the family with a modern take.

The Jetsons reboot will be written by Gary Janetti (Will&Grace, Family Guy) and executive produced by Zemeckis and James Rapke.

It will be produced by Warner Bros Animation, which absorbed Hanna-Barbera in 1996.

US network ABC has reportedly given a put-pilot order, which means it’ll likely go to series or there will be penalties attached.

ABC debuted the original show in 1962.
