Greece’s Antenna makes key appointments

Greece’s Antenna Group has restructured two roles in its management team, which it said would help support its goals both in the Greek market and internationally.

Pete SmithTassos Michalakis, formerly Antenna’s general commercial manager, has been named as managing director of Antenna Greence.

In this new role, Michalakis will be for the company’s leading free-to-air channel, ANT1 TV, as well as the wider Group’s growing digital portfolio which include the recently launched SVOD service, Ant1 Next, it’s OTT service Netwix and a number of other digital assets.

The broadcaster has also promoted current Antenna Television Greece managing director Stratis Liarellis to executive director of group policy, a new role in which he will be responsible for driving the group’s growth in Greece by identifying new business opportunities, diversifying the group’s local operations and delivering local strategic direction as well as overall responsibility for the group’s public affairs remit in its home market.

Antenna launched the Ant1 Next service in March, offering a range of exclusive scripted content for €2.99 (US$3.50) a month, after earlier testing the market with a transactional VOD offering.

OTT service Netwix provides a mix of short-form content spanning comedy, entertainment, lifestyle and gaming.
