Kids-logo-460_2TinybopFormer Viacom International Media Networks emerging markets chief Bhav Singh has acquired a stake in Brooklyn-based kids app developer Tinybop.

The investment makes Singh’s Sandbox Partners (SBX) Tinybop’s largest institutional investor.

Tinybop, which Raul Guttierez (pictured) founded in creates educational apps for children that encourage kids and parents to play and learn together.

“Raul has created a hub of incredible apps that educate and entertain,” said Singh. “At SBX, our mission is to educate children for the world of tomorrow, which aligns perfectly with Tinybop’s mission to create toys for tomorrow.”

SBX has already invested in children’s entertainment and education brands such as SVOD service Hopster, SuperAwesome and Poptropica.

Singh left his role as managing director, emerging markets at Viacom’s international arm five years ago to lead a global division of publisher Pearson.
