Will and Grace reboot talk intensifies

Scripted-logo-460_2Will and Grace is returning to TV, according to one of its stars.

Leslie Jordan told radio station KPBS that US broadcaster NBC had ordered a reboot, eleven years after the sitcom ended.

“It’s back; NBC has ordered it,” added Jordan, who claimed the commission was for ten episodes, and would be ready to go in July.

Since the cast reunited for an election themed video in October, there has been speculation that NBC would bring back the Emmy award-winning comedy for a limited series revival.

Stars Megan Mullally and Debra Messing have both signaled they would be interested in returning to the sitcom in recent months.

However, Messing and another star Eric McCormack, have both tweeted there is no order in place. NBC declined to comment when approached by US trades.

Will and Grace was a sitcom about the life of a gay lawyer (McCormack) and his college roommate, an interior designer (Messing). It won 16 Emmys and ran for eight seasons, from 1998 to 2006.

NBC Studios (now Universal Television) produced the show, initally with KoMut Entertainment and latterly Sister Entertainment. MGM sells the tape internationally.
