Former Shine COO joins Avalon

Former Shine COO Tim Robinson has joined comedy specialist Avalon Group.

Robinson was COO of Shine between 2013 and 2015 before joining Lis Murdoch’s digital start-up Vertical Networks in an interim role.

At Avalon he will be based in London. He started in his new role today.

Joint Avalon managing directors Richard Allen-Turner and Jon Thoday said: “Executives of Tim’s calibre and experience are extraordinarily rare and we are delighted he has chosen to join Avalon.”

Avalon has talent management as well as production and distribution divisions. On the production side the group includes Avalon Televison, Liberty Bell Productions and Topical Television among others.

Recent Avalon shows include the Channel 4 hit comedy Catastophe, which was recently picked up by Amazon in the US.

Robinson left Shine shortly after its merger with Endemol.
