News brief: Tricon racks up Aussie sales

Canada-based distributor Tricon has sold several of its shows into Australia.

Pay TV group Foxtel has bought a factual package that includes filmmaking doc series Reelside, aircraft restoration series The Restorers, and Independence USA, about a family seeking to live off the grid.

In other Australian sales, NITV, the SBS-managed net for indigenous viewers, picked up drama series Hard Rock Medical (pictured) and one of doc We Ain’t Terrorists.

Closer to home, Tricon has 6x30mins drama Submission and new seasons of Comedy Bang! Bang! and Maron, both of which were for the IFC cable net in the US.
