Dahill leaves ABC for KEO

The Australian arm of indie prodco KEO Films has hired Brendan Dahill as its new CEO.

He joins from local pubcaster the ABC where he was head of non-scripted production.

Dahill started his TV career in the UK at ITV and then Discovery, before joining BBC Worldwide. At the ABC he has been head of programming and channel controller of the flagship ABC1 service.

He took on the unscripted role earlier this year as part of a major restructure at the ABC, but has now left for KEO.

KEO CEO Debbie Manners said: “I’m delighted that Brendan is coming to KEO Australia as Managing Director. KEO Australia is very important to us strategically and has been a resounding success, producing high quality and entertaining programming for the local market.”

Leonie Lowe had been running KEO in Australia but dissolved her partnership deal with the prodco earlier this year and is concentrating on her own indie, Lune Media.

KEO’s Australian credits include Bullied for the ABC, Struggle Street for SBS Television and three seasons of River Cottage Australia for Foxtel’s Lifestyle Food channel.
