Caroline Kusser will reunite with her former boss at Red Arrow International, Jens Richter, after joining FremantleMedia International.
Kusser (pictured) has been appointed to the new post of senior VP, sales and distribution at FMI’s US arm, reporting into senior executive VP, television and digital distribution for North America Lisa Honig.
This means she will again work for Richter, who is now CEO of FremantleMedia’s international business having formerly been chief executive of Red Arrow International.
In her new post, Kusser will look to increase opportunities for the firm’s 22,000-hour catalogue.
Kusser left Red Arrow after ten years at the end of 2014, having relocated to LA in 2011 to be senior VP, North America. In that latter post, she built up the Germany-based Red Arrow Group’s US business.
After leaving Red Arrow, she launched consultancy Carokusser, which had clients including ZDF Enterprises. Earlier in her career, she worked for Bavaria Media Television, Peppermint and Beta Film.
“Caroline’s vast experience, pivotal drama distribution knowledge and exceptional relationships in the US will play an important part in FMI’s US expansion strategy and push into high-end drama,” said FMI’s Honig.
“With teams in both New York and LA, a well-established history of sales across multiple genres and long-standing client relationships, we’re in a good position to take our business up to the next level and Caroline’s understanding of this key market will help us to achieve further success.”
