News brief: Chinese VOD net add Turtles

Chinese on-demand video site Tencent has acquired seasons one and two of Viacom’s Tenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The deal was one of a batch distributor Viacom International Media Networks announced overnight, with Nicaragua’s Telenica taking a 1 400-hour package including new shows Harvey Beaks, 100 Things to do Before High School and Shimmer & Shine.

Bolivia’s ATB also bought TMNT, while Chile’s TVN, Finland’s YLE, Iceland’s RUV, France’s TF1, Italy’s DeAgostini, Spain’s Antena 3 and South Africa’s e-tv also bought VIMN shows.
