Content Innovation Award winners revealed

Entertainment One, Discovery Networks International and ITV Studios Global Entertainment were among the big winners at TBI’s inaugural Content Innovation Awards here in Cannes.

More than 100 top-level programming and technology industry executives attended the event, which was held at the Carlton Beach in conjunction with TBI’s sister title, Digital TV Europe.

eOne was named International Production Company of the Year, while ITV Studios Global Entertainment fended off tough competition to win the Best Content Distributor gong.

DNI won the Best Series Launch award for season four of Dynamo: Magician Impossible, while Eurosport was named Channel of the Year and Best International TV Networks Group, and AMC Global took home the prize fort Best New Channel Launch.

India’s Videocon d2h claimed the Pay TV Service of the Year award, while Endemol Beyond won a closely-fought battle to become MCN of the Year.

BT, Easel TV, Rovi, EE and Liberty Global were among the winners of the technology-focused awards.
