High 4K ultra HD channel launches

Satellite services company SES has launched High 4K TV, a new ultra HD entertainment channel.

The new service will be programmed with 4K series, sport programming and docs and the round-the-clock service will be beamed across North America. SES says that the new channel reaches 100 million US homes and can be delivered via cable, IPTV and DTH services.

“The new channel, with its breadth of programming, is another key step in helping cable operators through North America accelerate the delivery of linear live Ultra HD content to subscriber homes across the US,” said Steve Corda, vice president of business development for SES in North America.

Justin Borrelo, head of business development at High TV, added: “It is indeed a major milestone for us, as an international 4K channel, to be present in North America with SES. We are excited to be bringing the very best in lifestyle and entertainment programming to an audience that embraces entertainment as the very essence of their culture, and we look forward to expanding the delivery of High 4K TV programming to other regions around the world.”

High 4K produces a range of UHD programming and will make about 100 hours of content a year out of its London, New York and Hong Kong bases.
