CEE formats deals for All3’s Filmpool

All3Media International has struck two new deals for formats from German prodco Filmpool.

Detectives-Investigate-aka-Niedrig-&-Khunt_Generic-©-Filmpool-&-a3miLong-running Sat.1 series Niedrig & Kuhnt: Detectives Investigate (left) will be remade locally in Ukraine for ICTV. Mamas Film will produce the Ukrainian version, which will run to 56 episodes in the first series.

The show, in which real-life police detectives attempt to solve fictional crimes, is a staple on ARD, which has aired over 1,500 episodes of the show.

Another German constructed reality series for the CEE region is Families at the Crossroads, the RTL series that recreates family crises. Czech free-to-air broadcaster Prima TV has ordered a second season of its version of the show.

The show is faring well in the region with Polsat in Poland, TV3 in Estonia and Nova in Bulgaria all running local versions.

Detectives Investigate and Families at the Crossroads are both part of All3Media International’s formats slate for the NATPE Europe market in Prague later this month.

RTL has ordered an 80-episode version of the former series, following a successful ten-episode pilot run.

Natalia Sterlikova, format sales executive for the CEE region at All3Media International said: “Central and Eastern Europe is fast becoming a powerhouse for local format adaptation – broadcasters there have a strong appetite for proven, cost effective productions which can be stripped across daytime or primetime schedules.”

She added: “Partnerships with formats experts such as Filmpool and Studio Lambert are enabling us to bring some of the best, and most adaptable, ideas to local channels and we’re looking forward to negotiating some exciting new deals in the region at NATPE Europe.“
