Buyers line up for RuPaul’s Drag Race

RuPaul's-Drag-RacePassion has sold US drag queen competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race to a host of broadcasters.

Discovery’s female-skewed TLC channel has acquired it for Germany and Turner’s TruTv has snagged UK rights.

In Brazil, pay TV channel operator Globosat has picked it up for its Multishow channel.

In Canada, the OutTV specialty channel has bought the latest season, having bought earlier outings. Foxtel in Australia has also bought the latest, eighth, season of the series, which is about to go into production.

The show follows Rupaul as he oversees and mentors aspiring drag queens contestants. The World of Wonder series goes out on Viacom’s LGBT-skewed cable net Logo in the US.
