E! orders second drama, Objective producing

US cable net E! has ordered The Arrangement, its second ever scripted series after The Royals.

All3Media’s Objective USA is coproducing, alongside Universal Cable Productions.

Mad Men writer Jonathan Abrahams penned the pilot of The Arrangement, which is billed as ‘a Cinderella story for modern times, with a dramatic and complicated Hollywood twist’.

It follows a young actress who is presented with a dilemma when she sees what is required to land her dream role.

It was not immediately clear who has international rights, but they will sit with either the distribution division of NBCUniversal, which is coproducing and owns the channel, or All3Media International, which owns Objective.

Kevin Plunkett, senior VP, scripted programming, E! said: “The Arrangement is the perfect follow-up to the success of The Royals, taking the E! brand further into the scripted space with young skewing, escapist stories.”
