A+E examines Marilyn at MIPTV

A+E Networks International is bringing a telemovie event series about the life of Marilyn Monroe to MIPTV.

The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe stars Kelli Garner as the iconic Hollywood sex symbol and Susan Sarandon as her absent mother, and is based on J. Randy Taraborelli’s best-seller of the same name.

The 2x120mins programme looks at a young Norma Jean Mortenson and her troubled relationships, and follows her story through to her reinvention as Monroe and subsequent failed marriages and mental illnesses.

Asylum Entertainment produces the show for Lifetime in the US, and A+E will be shopping it in Cannes, along with the 10x60mins UnREAL, period piece Sons of Liberty and telefilms such as If There Be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday.
