Scorpion spotlights Paedophile Hunter

The Paedophile HunterUK indie distributor Scorpion TV has acquired rights to controversial Channel 4 documentary The Paedophile Hunter.

The film aired on Channel 4 late last year to strong ratings. The doc followed controversial online vigilante Stinson Hunter, who poses as young children on social networking sites in order to identify men with paedophilic tendencies.

The Paedophile Hunter comes from director Dan Reed.

Meanwhile, Scorpion has sold How to Be a Billionaire has gone to Canal D in Canada, while PBS’s America Reframed in the US has acquired New Orleans crime doc Shell Shocked. Fox Voyage has bought The Aviatrix, while Access TV has acquired Stem Cell Revolutions.

New Middle Eastern broadcaster Al Araby has bought Palestinian people smuggling doc Infiltrators and Another Night on Earth, about Cairo taxi drivers. YES in Israel and SBS in Australia have taken Survival of the Fabulous, with the latter also buying Boobs, a doc about a women’s journey in the beauty industry, Craigslist Joe, about a man travelling the US surviving on favours from community website Craigslist, and UK doc Payday.
