Chipmunks sell out in Europe

Alvin1The new Alvin and the Chipmunks animated series, Alvinnn!! and the Chipmunks, has been acquired by Italian kids channel K2 and free-to-air broadcasters RTBF in Belgium and SIC in Portugal.

The latest deals for the PGS Entertainment-distributed series mean it has now sold into all of Europe’s major territories ahead of its launch next year.

French free-to-air channel M6 commissioned the show, which is produced by Bagdasarian Productions and OuiDO! Productions.

Other deals for the show in Europe include agreements with Super RTL Germany and Neox in Spain. Nickelodeon has worldwide pay TV rights outside of the US and Brazil.

Alvin and the Chipmunks was created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. in the late 1950s with an animated series debuting in 1961. Another series followed in the 1980s, airing on NBC in the US.
