News brief: Great British Menu prepared for TF1

France’s TF1 is making a local version of UK format Great British Men with indie Pernel Media.

TF1 Group has acquired the format from Optomen International. TF1 Productions will now coproduce a remake with Pernel, which has previously localised shows such as Cash Cab and Balls of Steel.

The show is on its ninth season in the UK for BBC Two.
