A&E shackles couples in Love Prison

The A&E cable network is the US is launching a reality series in which couples live together for a week on a deserted island.

Love Prison will see couples that have been dating online agree to meet for the first time on the island to test whether their relationship has legs in the real world.

The 7x60mins series comes from ITV Studios-owned Leftfield Pictures, with Leftfield president Brent Montgomery executive producing alongside David George and Jordana Hochman. Jason Hollis and Eliza Clark are co-exec producers for Leftfield, while Drew Tappon, Shelly Tatro and Devon Graham exec for A&E.

The series will debut on September 8 in a 10pm ET/PT slot.
