Nat Geo Channel takes off with Turkish airline doc

National Geographic Channel Turkey has partnered with Turkish Airlines to create a fly-on-the-wall doc series.

The pair claims the show, currently untitled, represents the first time an airline has allowed a production crew to film its daily functions. It will film at the busy Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

Turkish Airlines has a fleet of 252 carriers, and is considered as one of the world’s top airlines, having won a number of Skytrax awards in recent years.

The show will air on Nat Geo in Turkey later this autumn, first on the new Nat Geo People network in October and then on the main Nat Geo Channel a month later.

In Turkey, Nat Geo Channel airs on pay TV platforms Digiturk and Teledunya, and IPTV platforms Tivibu Home and Tivibu Web. The network is part of the National Geographic Channels International group, which is owned by National Geographic Ventures and Fox Entertainment Group.
