HBO takes on distribution of Telemundo in Lat-Am

HBO Latin America has agreed a deal to distribute the Telemundo Internacional channel in the Lat-Am region.

HBO will oversee carriage deals for the telenovela channel in all territories in the region except Brazil and Mexico. The deal covers affiliate deals with pay as well as digital platforms.

“We look forward to significantly expanding the reach of the channel throughout the region, offering to subscribers an additional source of entertainment,” said Emilio Rubio, president of distribution for HBO Latin America Group.

HBO will start repping the channel in June. As well as distributing its own channels in Latin America it represents third party offerings including, among others, A+E’s Lifetime. Telemundo is owned by NBCUniversal.
