Shine scores Code of a Killer, Rome rights

Shine International has acquired rights to a pair of series from UK broadcasters.

From ITV is the upcoming World Productions drama Code of a Killer, which is based on a true story. It follows David Threlfall as a 1980s detective solving a double murder as the discovery of DNA fingerprinting is unearthed nearby.

From Channel 5 is 360Production and GroupM Entertainment’s Rome: The World’s First Superpower. The four-part series looks at characters such as Hannibal, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, and tells the story of how the Roman capital ran the world for nearly 1,000 years.

Shine International’s senior VP Georgia Brown and senior acquisitions manager Amy Dowsett brokered the deals with World Productions’ Roderick Seligman and Mark Wright of 360Production, which was recently acquired by Rare TV.
