Euro broadcasters make Chipmunk move

Germany’s Super RTL and Spain’s Atresmedia have both acquired two seasons of upcoming animated series Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks.

The prebuys, with major broadcasters in two of Europe’s largest markets, come after the international launch of the series at MIP Jr. last autumn, where it was the most-screened show.

It will bow in Germany and Spain early next year. In Spain, it will feature on Atresmedia’s Neox Kids strand.

Super RTL’s programme director Carsten Göttel said: “Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks is one of the few all-time classics in animation, as it combines cool characters, funny stories and musical elements in a fantastic way. The series is a perfect example for the great value of a classic brand.”

The series is produced by Bagdasarian Productions and Ouido Productions. PGS Entertainment is handling international sales.
