tny-riot!-logoFINALThe US division of FremantleMedia has created a new digital studio, Tiny Riot!

FremantleMedia North America said the studio launch was spurred by the success of pet-themed YouTube channel The Pet Collective and a recent digital content deals with online fashion service StyleHaul and with hipster brand Vice.

Gayle Gilman, formerly executive VP, digital content at FMNA, will run Tiny Riot! as executive VP and general manager. She will report to FMNA COO, Lee Rierson.

Rierson said: “As we established key partnerships and watched our original digital content output grow over the past 12 months, it became clear that this was a business that deserved to operate as its own studio.”

She added that the new studio will develop content based on existing FremantleMedia properties as work up new channels and content in the food, lifestyle, fashion and pets spaces.

The new unit will also sell advertising for the FMNA digital services and manage their distribution.

Gilman said: “We’ve already had great success with The Pet Collective and our strategic deals with BroadbandTV, Vice and StyleHaul are just the tip of the iceberg. It’s evident that there are big opportunities in this space, and platform providers are keen to partner with premium content creators with a global distribution and production reach.”
