Netflix is gearing up for a September launch in Germany, according to a report by German tech site Curved.de.
Though Netflix has not commented publicly on the plans, the report claims that Netflix is planning a large-scale ad campaign in Germany to tie in with a September launch.
The move would see the firm take on existing OTT services in the country like ProSiebeSat.1-owned Maxdome and Vivendi’s 2013-launched SVoD service Watchever.
House of Cards broadcaster Netflix is already rumoured to be launching in France this Autumn, and said in its Q4 2013 earnings announcement in January that it planned to “embark on a substantial European expansion” later this year.
In Europe, Netflix is currently available in the UK and Ireland, the Nordics and the Netherlands.
