News brief: Cartoon Network poaches content boss from NBCU

Cartoon Network has recruited Brian Robillard as vice president, content business operations for its Cartoon Network Studios division.

Robbilard joins from NBC Universal where he was director of product strategy and development, content distribution working on the company’s TV Everywhere service.

At Cartoon he will report to chief content officer Rob Sorcher. He said: “We’re creating so many new types of content for a Play Generation. Brian’s experience in managing information, communication and operations across complex arenas makes him a perfect choice to help set up these intrapreneurial content models.”

Before his stint at NBCU, Robilard was as Disney ABC Television Group, working across its kids networks.
