MIPTV 2014: UKTV closes Foxtel, BBC Lifestyle deals

UKTV’s fledgling sales division has closed programming deals with Foxtel in Australia and BBC Worldwide’s BBC Lifestyle channel.

The Foxtel agreement hands the paycaster’s Comedy Channel all four seasons of Dave series Dave’s One Night Stand and History Channel Find My Past, which went out on Yesterday.

BBC Lifestyle, meanwhile, has acquired Good Food commission Valentine Warner Eats Scandinavia for its Nordic and Middle East pay TV feeds. Foxtel has also bought the show for its LifeStyle FOOD channel.

UKTV’s head of programme distribution Jonathan Newman negotiated the deals. He took on distribution of UKTV original content on a title-by-title basis last year, as TBI revealed before MIPTV last year.
