MIPTV 2014: Peacock Alley to launch sci-fi drama

Peacock Alley will take sci-fi drama Echoes, which it is developing for Canada’s Bell Media, to Cannes.

Echoes is a 10x60mins original from co-creators Ken Kabatoff, Andrew Karr, Mark Savela and Craig VandenBiggelaar. Stargate’s Carl Binder has been signed as lead writer and showrunner.

Peacock Alley and Don Carmody Television are coproducing.

It follows a young woman attempting to survive an intergalactic battle of two warring extraterrestrial species who clash on Earth in 2021.

Peacock Alley and Don Carmody Productions’ TV unit are also coproducing Between, along with Mulmur Feed Co.

Michael McGowan has been signed on to write and direct. Executive producers are Mulmur’s Michael McGowan, DCTV’s Don Carmody and David Cormican and Peacock Alley’s Carrie Mudd.

Peacock Alley Entertainment has international distribution rights.
