Ukraine’s 1+1 launches Turkish cooking format

Rivals in law 2Ukrainian free-to-air broadcaster 1+1 has acquired the Turkish cooking format Rivals in Law and will launch a local version called Between Two Fires.

The Global Agency-distributed format pitches mothers and daughters in law against each other in a culinary competition.

The female participants buy all the food for a signature dish and the son/husband blind tastes to find out whether his mother or wife is the better cook.

Global Agency has already shopped the format to several international partners including Abu Dhabi TV, which launched a local version last December.

In Kazakhstan, Channel 7 has licensed it for a local remake, while Macedonia’s Alfa TV Dooel, Serbia’s Nova have also picked up the show.
