BBC Worldwide launch kids SVOD service in South Korea

BBC Worldwide has inked a deal with South Korean KT Corporation to launch a CBeebies SVOD service on the KT olleh TV platform.

Over five million viewers in South Korea will now have access to CBeebies programming on the subscription channel, including The Tweenies, Bits and Bobs, Yoho Ahoy and M.I. High.

The deal marks the largest volume of television programmes on a single channel available in South Korea, and follows a similar launch for the CBeebies brand in China last June.

Soojin Chung, general manager, Korea, for BBC Worldwide said: “With our long working relationship with KT, we are pleased to be able to expand our partnership with them, at the same time, continuing to provide programmes to our young viewers and their carers that encourage learn through play.”
