Scripps promotes Franklin to digital chief role

Knoxville-based Scripps Networks Interactive has promoted Tamara Franklin to become its executive VP, digital.

Franklin has been with the US lifestyle channels operator since 2009 after joining from Turner Broadcasting System, most recently as senior VP, affiliate operations and new media distribution.

In her new role, Franklin will work to coordinate an overall digital video production and distribution strategy and report into Burton Jablin, who became president of Scripps’ operating division in September last year.

Scripps was recently subject to reports that it was in talks to merge with Discovery Communications, though these discussions are said to have broken down.
