NBC staffs up with new roles at channels business

NBCUniversal has created two new positions in its international channels division and hired executives from BT Vision and UKTV.

Sarah Lloyd-Baker has been appointed VP, marketing, UK and Kjetil Njoten vice president, creative, UK and emerging markets.

Both roles are London-based and both execs will report to Nicky Douglas, managing director, Universal Networks International, UK. Njoten will also report to Colin McLeod, MD, UNI Emerging Markets.

Lloyd Baker has already started in the new role in which she will control the marketing activity for the UNI division’s UK channels, Universal Channel, Syfy, E! Entertainment Television and Movies 24.

She joins from her own consultancy, prior to which she was at UK telco BT where she oversaw marketing for the BT Vision pay TV service.

Njoten starts at NBC next month and take responsibility for all promotional output for UNI channels in the UK, Africa, Benelux, Central Europe and Scandinavia. He joins from digital TV channels group UKTV where, as director of creative services, he has overseen the creative output across all UKTV channels since 2011.

Recent developments at the UNI division include revamping the look and feel of the Universal Channel in the UK and emerging markets, localising the 13th Street channel as 13 Ulica in Poland and rolling out the Telemundo brand across 48 countries in Africa.
