CEO of Zodiak’s Marathon Media exits

Vincent Chalvon-Demersay has left Marathon Media, the French kids producer that is part of Zodiak Media.

Totally SpiesZodiak said Chalvon-Demersay left the company a few days ago (November 17) and has sold his small equity stake in Zodiak to its parent company De Agostini.

He joined Marathon in 1999 and between January 2012 and September 2013 was also chief strategy officer of parent group Zodiak Media. Based in LA, he will retain a US production role at Zodiak in the immediate future.

Along with David Michel, Chalvon-Demersay produced and created hit animated series Totally Spies (pictured) and Martin Mystery. Marathon Media’s other shows include Gormiti and Rekkit Rabbit.

Zodiak told TBI that Michel is staying at Marathon.

Chalvon-Demersay said today: “I would like to thank all the Marathon Media teams and my friends at Zodiak Media for their support and trust during these 14 years. I will remain employed by the Zodiak group in Los Angeles for a long enough time to ensure the best possible transition.”

Marc-Antoine d’Halluin said: “I would like to thank Vincent Chalvon-Demersay for his great contribution to Zodiak’s reputation and to that of world class European animation. I wish him the best on his future challenges.”

Zodiak said that Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, who was recently appointed company CEO, will take charge of Marathon on a temporary basis.

The news is the latest in a line of executive changes at Zodiak. David Frank announced his departure as CEO earlier this year. Drama producer Marathon’s co-founder Pascal Breton has also exited, as has Joely Fether, who was Zodiak Media’s UK and Benelux CEO.
