Fox orders new toon series from Family Guy team

US broadcast network Fox has ordered Bordertown, a new animated series from Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane and Mark Hentemann.

The comedy series follows two families living in the titular fictional Southwest desert town on the U.S.-Mexico border.

The father of one family is a Border Patrol Agent and the other industrious Mexican immigrant, setting up a satirical look at cultural and attitudinal shifts in modern day America.

The show will debut in Fox’s 2014-15 TV season. Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Family Guy’s Alex Carter will exec produce alongside Futurama and American Dad’s Dan Vebber.
