Murphy upped as Corus restructures top team

Canada’s Corus has promoted executive VP Doug Murphy of the Canadian firm’s TV division to COO of the parent Corus Entertainment unit.

The move is part of a restructure designed to bring Corus’ TV and radio units closer together.

Murphy will now be executive VP and COO of Corus Entertainment and in control of television and radio. Among those reporting into him will be Colin Bohm, VP of television, Corus Kids; Maria Hale, VP of television and head of Corus Content Distribution and Pay TV; and John McDonald, VP of television, Corus Women and Family.

Murphy will report into Corus Entertainment’s president and CEO John Cassaday.
