Banijay, Telemundo hit Reset with French format deal

LetrisBanijay and Telemundo Internacional have agreed a three-year format deal for the distribution of formats from Spanish producer Reset TV in France.

Telemundo Internacional, the international division of the NBCUniversal-owned Spanish language broadcaster, inked a deal with Toni Cruz and Josep Maria Mainat, the former Gestmusic Endemol executives that created Reset TV having left the Operación Triunfo producer. The distribution pact allowed it to sell Reset formats internationally.

The agreement with Banijay means the France-based company will shop Reset’s formats in France and French-speaking territories. Reset’s shows include entertainment formats Taxi! Taxi!, One Minute of Glory, Crazy About Dance and Letris.

“This is a pioneer agreement that allows Telemundo Internacional to strengthen its relationship with an industry leader in France – a fascinating territory where formats have had great success for decades, said Xavier Aristimuño, senior VP of sales and business development for Telemundo Internacional.

Reset has a separate distribution deal covering Western Europe with Warner Bros. International Television Production.
